What if you didn’t have to choose between a quality learning environment for your child and time with your family?

Kinder Connection offers sensory-rich play-based learning in Galena, Maryland for children ages 0-4. Children K5-3rd can experience the same philosophy next door at Sassafras Primary School. Conveniently located near Dogwood Plaza, within walking distance of a beautiful playground and public library, we serve infants through age 9 with research-informed play-based learning that includes families through regular communication and monthly events.

We are a Maryland EXCELS Level 4 provider, participated for two years in the ASPIRE Pre-K mentoring program, and use MSDE-approved and nationally recognized Creative Curriculum in our pre-k and research-backed curriculum in our private school.

Kinder Connection and Sassafras Primary School integrate literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, music, art and Spanish into themes based on student interest and current academic level. Children don’t sit and learn – instead movement and exploration are included in everything we do.

We offer a formal academic program during the school year for all ages based on the Creative Curriculum Units. This program aligns with MSDE standards for kindergarten readiness but is delivered in a way that encourages movement, sensory play, and creativity.

In addition to our full-time programs, we have some flexibility for families who need part-time care- welcoming children as families go back to work part-time as well as young children who are homeschooled and have parents who desire additional enrichment and socialization.

Children attend our micro-center three, four, or five days a week. Children receive a lower student to staff ratio 3:1 in our infant room, 5:1 in our twos and pre-k rooms, and 12:1 in our elementary school – much lower than most other programs in our area – giving your child the attention they need to thrive.
